Relationships is a gameplay mechanic in Rune Factory 3: A Fantasy Harvest Moon.

The "love point" status parameter determines how close a bachelorette is with Micah, which goes from a scale of 1 to 10. Only characters that have a heart symbol in his friend list can fall in love with him. Love points can be increased or decreased by doing the following:

Giving a present on the bachelorette's birthday will increase love points by double, as well as decreasing by double if Micah gives her a hated gift. Finishing her request will increase Love points by 5 points. Depending on how many times Micah will gain the love points, a Love Potion to a bachelorette will raise her Love Points by 1-100.
Micah must befriend a bachelorette to 7 hearts to start dating her. Afterwards, he can ask the bachelorette out while talking to her by pressing the L or R buttons on the Nintendo DS. To activate a date cut-scene, Micah must walk into one of the date locations (Vale: Icy Rosebush, Sol Terrano: Star Dunes, Privera: Flower Field, and Oddward: Rainbow Falls). Each bachelorette has a favorite location to go on dates and she will say something when he asks her out. This can still be done even after marriage.
Marriage[]
To get married, Micah must finish 10 of the bachelorette's requests, befriend her to 10 LP, unite the town and Univir, and obtain the double bed from Diamond General Store. Later, Wells and Marjorie will show up and give him the engagement ring recipe for the Workshop. Micah must be at Level 20 to crafting this and obtain 2 Silver as well as a Ruby. The double bed will be available upon defeating the twin monsters at Oddward.
